Club 31: decarbonisation and energy sovereignty, a major challenge for the next presidential term

On 30 June, NSI launched its Energy Policy 2027 series with a first Club 31 breakfast dedicated to decarbonisation and energy sovereignty. Some forty executives from across the energy value chain – producers, renewable energy players, professional federations, manufacturers and financiers – discussed a key question: how can the energy transition become a genuine driver of competitiveness and reindustrialisation?

The discussion was led by two leading speakers: Agnès Pannier-Runacher, Member of Parliament for the 2nd constituency of Pas-de-Calais and former Minister for Energy, Industry and Ecological Transition, and Andreas Rüdinger, energy transition coordinator at the Institute for Sustainable Development and International Relations (IDDRI).

Political insight and forward-looking expertise combined to frame a debate set to shape the next presidential election.

Our view

As 2027 approaches, energy choices will determine the competitiveness of entire industries. Through this series, NSI offers a demanding forum for dialogue between public decision-makers and economic players. Our public affairs teams support companies in the sector to anticipate regulatory change, make their voice heard and contribute meaningfully to the public debate.
